First Drop

Eight pieces. Two years. One drop.

This is where Greybank starts. Not a full range — the eight things I kept coming back to while everything else got cut. A dry wax deck jacket and a double-faced wool jacket to wear over everything. A shawl cardigan, a fleece-lined waffle crew and a cord overshirt for the months in between. A 300gsm tee, and the pants and socks you actually wear every day.

Every one of them has been on my back before it goes on yours. Vintage cuts, sized for how we’re built now, lined for what they’re for. Nothing in here exists because a range plan said it should.

FIELD NOTES: THE Withernsea 

Hunstanton, Norfolk. August 2026.

The sample landed this week. Black dry wax, Brass placket, a script tab at the back of the neck and nothing else shouting. It's the jacket that started the wax collection — a deck jackets pattern cut in waxed cotton, so it sits like a deck jacket and sheds weather like the coast jackets we grew up with. It gets worn now, for the shift, the drive, the pub after — because nothing goes into the first drop until it's been on my back first.
