THE FIFE — WOOL SHACKET
Dark Blue
Named for the Kingdom of Fife, the corner of Scotland between the Forth and the Tay.
A coast of harbours and hard winters, where the wind off the North Sea doesn't stop for a jacket that isn't up to it. This is the wool one. It goes on in October and comes off in March.
Dark blue wool, cut as a shacket — short in the body, sat on the hip, so it goes over a tee or a knit without swamping you. Shirt collar, engraved-G brass snaps down the front, two flap chest pockets, the script tab on the left chest, and nothing else on it. The cloth and the shape do the work.
Wear it over a tee in October and over a knit in January.
