Men's Wool Pea Coat / The Dover

Named for the straits every sailor knows. The civilian pea coat, not the issue one.

By the 1960s the men wearing pea coats had left the Navy and wanted a coat, not a uniform. The Dover is that coat. Heavyweight 660gsm wool melton, dense and felted so the weave disappears, cut short and boxy to the hip the way the originals were. Double-breasted with six leather buttons, each one marked Greybank, and slanted welt pockets you can get your hands into with a jumper on. The only other mark on it is a G pressed into the wool at the hem. Designed in Yorkshire. We make a few at a time.
