The trouser you'll wear five days a week.

Rigid cotton twill, garment washed after make-up so it arrives soft rather than stiff and keeps getting better. No elastane — it doesn't dye the same as cotton, it goes at the knee before the twill does, and a chino should age rather than sag.

Slim through the leg with a clean taper and no break over a boot. Proper trouser construction: button and zip fly, belt loops, slant hand pockets, two welt pockets at the back.

Wear it to work, wear it out, wear it until it's the colour of the sea wall.

SIZING

Sized on the waist in inches. The cloth is rigid, so there's no give in the waistband — take your usual waist size rather than sizing down.

Care. Wash cold with similar colours, hang to dry. Cotton twill softens with every wash.
