There's a stretch of the North Sea that doesn't show up on postcards. No cliffs, no lighthouse, no name anyone outside a trawler crew would recognise. Just open water, and beneath it, a sandbank that's been there since the ice left — Dogger Bank. Shallow enough to turn a swell vicious, far enough out that if the weather comes in, you're on your own until it passes.

Men have fished it for three hundred years. Cold hands, colder wind, the kind of exposure that doesn't care how tough you think you are. The beanie they wore wasn't fashion. It was the difference between finishing a shift and losing feeling in your ears for good.

That's where the name comes from. Not because it sounds hard — because it was hard, for the people who worked it.

The Dogger is built the same way. Tight-gauge knit, dense enough to cut wind before it gets through, long enough in the cuff to pull down over the ears without leaving a gap at the neck. No fuss, no branding you can see from ten feet away — just a small tonal G where only you know it's there. It's not made to be noticed. It's made to be worn when nobody's watching, on a rig, on a boat, on a walk home in weather that doesn't care about your plans.

Wear it for the school run. Wear it hauling gear off a deck at 4am. Wear it long after the reason you bought it has stopped mattering.
